FLICK FRIDAY VOLUME 3

I have been trying to have some time away from my laptop and internet and live an actual life. I guess I am not really that good facing reality because I always find my self opening my laptop to watch movies coz why not they are more interesting than my real life! Haha!

So here are the movies that somehow touched my heart and would like to share with you:


1. Brooklyn (2015)

Okay, I'll be honest. I decided to give this movie a try because of Saoirse Ronan. I'll never forget her for playing Susie Salmon in Lovely Bones. Her lovely blue eyes do the acting.

This about an Irish girl who left her home to pursue her dreams. She encountered a lot of problems in her first months in New York like being home sick and how to blend with people there. Later on she had to choose between her old life in Ireland or her new life in New York. It's a good story of a girl turning into a woman.

P.S. Tony's accent will give you goosebumps haha! 3/5

2. Celeste and Jesse Forever (2012)

My friend Anne have been urging me to watch this movie since like forever. So last Saturday night when I can't find sleep I decided to watch it. It's about two best friends who jumped into a romantic relationship but didn't work. They had a hard time letting go of each other.

I am not into romantic movies these past few days but this one got me. It's sad story but maybe that's just how life works. Lesson learned: don't turn your best friend into a lover lol! 3/5

3. Mustangs (2015)

My friend Nat recommended this movie and I'm glad I gave it a try. This is the most senseful film I've watched since Lovelace. There are important issues that was discussed in the movie like fixed marriage, abuse, depression, rape and women's place in the society.  Their young and naive minds have been corrupted by their overly conservative surroundings.These five girls had been through a lot and I am touched by their love for each other.

It's a good eye opener for people, that there are still some places in the world that women are not treated well and fair. 4.5/5

4. Dead Poets Society (1989) 

The image above summarizes what is this movie all about. It's about the "art" of living. In a conservative boarding school in Vermont, a professor named John Keating inspired his students to live their lives to the fullest by teaching poetry. The movie shows how art affects our way of thinking and how it inspires people to truly "live".

This movie reminds me of my college life and the professors I will never forget. You see, the great lessons in life cannot be found in textbooks. 4/5
